ICOS-Spain
Observing greenhouse gases across Spain, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
What Is ICOS-Spain?
ICOS-Spain is the Spanish contribution to ICOS, the pan-European research infrastructure that monitors greenhouse gases and carbon cycle variables across the atmosphere, oceans and terrestrial ecosystems.
Coordinated by AEMET through the Izaña Atmospheric Research Center, the network provides long-term, high-quality observations to support climate science and evidence-based decision-making.
A National Network for Climate Observation
ICOS-Spain is the Spanish national network within ICOS ERIC, the European research infrastructure dedicated to high-precision greenhouse gas observations. Through atmospheric, ocean and ecosystem stations, ICOS-Spain provides long-term, standardised data to support climate science, environmental monitoring and evidence-based decision-making.
